Who We Are
Almost two centuries of uninterrupted service

19th century
Founded in 1840 by Monsieur Perrin, the company transported stone for urban growth in his home town of Lausanne, on the shores of Lake Geneva.
By 1855, with a team of 80 horse and carts, the company expanded into the moving business and became a key player in regional transport.
It supported the city’s major expansion and continually adapted to the rapidly developing environment, working nationally across Switzerland.

20th century
In 1920, Ami Lavanchy, an international logistics expert, joined the company bringing with him strategic experience gained at the Swiss Office of Foreign Transport.
He became a partner two years later, and in 1926 took over the company renaming it as Lavanchy.
Under his leadership, the company expanded internationally, representing the major shipping and airline companies of the time, and became the official trucking partner of the Swiss Federal Railways.
By 1940, the company had 120 employees and was already renowned far beyond the Swiss borders.
Decades pass, but the spirit remains the same… reliability, precision and adaptability.
